Unit of Mining Areas Protection and Geoinformatics

The main research areas of the Unit of Mining Areas Protection and Geoinformatics are focused on estimation of negative impact of mining exploitation on the land surface, infrastructure and the natural environment. The research is concentrated on the risk assessment caused by underground mines as well as the open pits. Our projects are mostly related to monitoring changes caused by mining exploitation and prediction of its negative impact on the mine areas and the environment.
